SimpleKPI vs Plecto

Prices and features verified against Plecto's own pricing and documentation pages on 26 July 2026.

Plecto is a sales-floor motivation tool, and a good one. Live dashboards and slideshows on TVs, notifications pushed to Slack, Teams, email and mobile, and 150+ native integrations to feed them. If you want reps watching their numbers tick up in real time, buy Plecto. SimpleKPI is built for a different job: tracking and understanding KPIs without paying per tracked employee. One flat $79 a month covers unlimited users, with forecasting, anomaly detection and root-cause analysis built in. Plecto has none of them natively. Pick based on whether you need a scoreboard or an answer to what the score means.

Plecto is $30 a month per tracked license with a ten-license minimum, so small teams still pay the $300 floor. Dashboard-only viewers who are not tracked in a data source are free.

Plecto sells by the tracked license. On the entry Medium plan that's $30 per license per month, billed yearly, and the headline on Plecto's own pricing page reads $300 a month for 10 of them. Their FAQ spells out the rule: you need a license for every employee or system sending data in. People who only watch dashboards are free, which is genuinely generous. But anyone whose numbers appear on the board is a paid seat, and the bill tracks your headcount from day one.

Take a team of 10. Medium comes to $300 a month, $3,600 a year, and it buys less than the price suggests: dashboards, slideshows, instant notifications and the API. Reports, scheduled report delivery, custom permission profiles, dashboard access limits, SQL integrations and contests all sit on the Large plan at $46.50 per license, so the same 10 people cost $465 a month there, $5,580 a year. A team of 10 on SimpleKPI pays $79 a month, reports, permissions and AI included. So does a team of 100.

At 25 tracked employees the gap gets silly. Medium runs $750 a month, $9,000 a year; Large runs $1,162.50 a month, $13,950 a year. Want per-employee dashboard filtering or the coaching module? Dynamic Dashboards and Coaching and Training are paid add-ons at $238 a month each, on top. In fairness, a big company that tracks only a small sales team pays for those seats alone, and viewers stay free at any scale. SimpleKPI is $804 a year whoever you add.

SimpleKPI is one flat price: $79 per month billed monthly, or $67 per month billed annually ($804 a year), with unlimited users, dashboards, reports and KPIs. See pricing.

Where each one wins

Where Plecto wins

  • Push alerts to Slack, Teams, email and mobile

Plecto's instant notifications fire on conditions you set and deliver to Slack, Teams, email and mobile push, on the entry Medium plan. SimpleKPI's threshold alerts live in Pulse, inside the app. Nothing gets pushed to Slack, Teams or email. If alerts have to land where people chat, Plecto wins this one outright.

  • Native integration count

Plecto lists 150+ native integrations against SimpleKPI's 6 plus Zapier, spreadsheet import and a developer API. If your stack needs a direct connector rather than a Zapier hop or an API call, check Plecto's list first. One catch: SQL integrations sit on the Large tier.

  • The live sales floor

Plecto is built to put numbers on TVs and keep reps looking at them: a slideshow manager on every plan, real-time dashboards, contests on the Large tier and a coaching module as a paid add-on. SimpleKPI doesn't try to be a wallboard-and-hype machine. If that's the job, buy the tool built for it.

Where SimpleKPI wins

  • One flat price instead of a per-employee meter

SimpleKPI costs the same at 5 people as at 500: $79 a month, or $67 billed annually, unlimited users. Plecto's meter starts at $30 per tracked license on Medium, $46.50 on Large, and climbs with every employee whose numbers you track.

  • Forecasting, anomaly detection and root-cause analysis actually exist

Plecto has no forecasting engine; its own best-practice doc tells you to build a forecast yourself from a hit-rate formula. Alerts are thresholds you set by hand, nothing flags unusual movement automatically, and no feature explains why a number moved. SimpleKPI does all three, included in the flat price.

  • Reports and scheduled email reports on the standard price

A report emailed to your manager every Monday is a Large-tier feature on Plecto, at $46.50 per tracked license. Medium buys the dashboards and slideshows, not the reporting. SimpleKPI includes reports and scheduled email at the standard $79 a month.

  • An AI that does analysis, not autocomplete

Plecto's AI is a Formula AI Assistant, still labeled beta, that turns a text prompt into a formula. It doesn't analyze results, and the word AI never appears on Plecto's pricing page, so no usage cap is published. SimpleKPI's AI does the analysis itself: why a number moved, where it's heading, what looks unusual. No credits, no metering.

  • Permissions without a tier jump

Custom Permission Profiles and Limit Access to Dashboards are Large-tier on Plecto, so controlling who sees what costs $46.50 per tracked license. SimpleKPI includes roles and permissions in the one price.

Frequently asked questions

What does Plecto actually cost for a team of 10?

On the Medium plan, $30 per tracked license billed yearly, so 10 tracked people is $300 a month, $3,600 a year. If you need reports, scheduled delivery or custom permissions, that's the Large plan at $46.50 per license, $465 a month for the same team. SimpleKPI is $79 a month, or $67 billed annually ($804 a year), for unlimited users.

Does SimpleKPI send alerts to Slack or Teams?

No. SimpleKPI's threshold alerts are in-app only, through Pulse. Plecto pushes notifications to Slack, Teams, email and mobile on its entry plan, so if push alerts are non-negotiable, Plecto is the safer pick.

Does either tool have a free plan?

No. Both run 14-day free trials without a credit card, and neither publishes a free tier. Plecto's closest thing is free viewer access: people who only watch dashboards and are not tracked in a data source don't need a license.

Can Plecto forecast or explain why a KPI moved?

Not natively. Plecto's docs suggest building your own forecast from a hit-rate formula, alerts are thresholds you define by hand, and there's no root-cause or explanation feature in the help center index or on any pricing tier. SimpleKPI includes forecasting, anomaly detection and root-cause analysis in the flat price.
