SimpleKPI vs Databox
Prices and features verified against Databox's own pricing and documentation pages on 26 July 2026.
Pick Databox if you work alone, need its 130+ native integrations, or want alerts pushed to Slack and email. Its free tier is real, and its $64 solo plan undercuts us by three dollars a month on annual billing. Pick SimpleKPI the moment a second person needs a login: Databox's cheapest multi-user plan is $159 a month billed annually, while SimpleKPI covers unlimited users, dashboards, reports and KPIs for $79 a month, with every AI feature included and nothing metered.

What you actually pay
Start with one person, because that's where Databox looks best. The Analyst plan is $64 a month billed annually, against SimpleKPI's $79 a month, or $67 a month billed annually ($804 a year). Databox also has a genuine free tier for a single user; SimpleKPI's answer is a 14-day trial, no credit card. So if you're one marketer and certain you'll stay that way, Databox is $3 a month cheaper on annual billing (its monthly billing costs more, since the $64 is the annual-commitment rate). Two things to know before you settle in. Analyst caps AI at 500 credits a month, shared across the account and reset each cycle with no rollover. And neither push alerts nor forecasting is on the plan at any price.
The second login is where the two models part company. Analyst is a one-seat plan, so a team of two, five or ten needs Pro at $159 a month billed annually. That's a 2.5x jump before you've added anything. To be fair, Pro users are unlimited, so five people and ten people pay the same $159. The meters sit elsewhere: three data sources are included, each additional one costs $5.60 a month, and the AI pool is 1,500 credits a month shared across the whole account. Forecasting still isn't included; that arrives with Growth at $399 a month billed annually. The same team on SimpleKPI pays $79 a month and connects whatever it likes: 6 native integrations, Zapier, spreadsheet import, the developer API. None of it metered.
At 25 people the seat math holds steady for both tools, and that deserves saying: Pro is $159 whether ten people or twenty-five log in. What grows is everything around the seats. More people usually means more connected tools at $5.60 a month past the third source, and the same 1,500 shared credits now feed the whole floor. When they run out, the AI pauses until next cycle unless someone buys the top-up add-on. Want forecasting too? That's Growth at $399 a month. SimpleKPI at 25 people is the same $79 a month it was at one. There's no tier above it.
SimpleKPI is one flat price: $79 per month billed monthly, or $67 per month billed annually ($804 a year), with unlimited users, dashboards, reports and KPIs. See pricing.
Where each one wins
Where Databox wins
Push alerts to Slack, email and mobile
Databox sends manual threshold alerts and anomaly-based Smart Alerts by email, Slack and mobile push. SimpleKPI's threshold alerts (Pulse) live in-app only; nothing lands in Slack, Teams or your inbox. One caveat on the Databox side: alerts start at Pro ($159 a month billed annually) and aren't included on Free or Analyst.
130+ native integrations
Databox connects natively to 130+ tools. SimpleKPI ships 6 native integrations plus Zapier, spreadsheet import and a developer API. If your stack is wide and you want one-click connections rather than Zapier routes, Databox has the deeper catalog.
A real free tier
Databox's Free plan is genuinely $0 for one user, with one dashboard, 10 custom metrics and 50 AI credits a month. SimpleKPI has no free-forever plan, only a 14-day trial without a card. For kicking the tires over a few months at zero cost, Databox is the only option of the two.
Cheaper for a team of exactly one
Analyst at $64 a month billed annually beats SimpleKPI's $67 annual rate. It's a $3 gap, and it only holds while one person needs a login, but it's a win.
Where SimpleKPI wins
One flat price for the whole team
SimpleKPI's price is the same with two logins or two hundred: $79 a month flat. On Databox, the second login forces Pro at $159 a month billed annually, 2.5x its own entry price.
AI with no meter
Every AI feature, including root-cause analysis and anomaly detection, is in the one price with no credits and no metering. Databox allocates a monthly pool: 500 credits on Analyst, 1,500 on Pro, 4,000 on Growth, shared across the account with no rollover. Buying more is a separate top-up add-on, and its root-cause work runs through the same rationed pool. SimpleKPI's built-in AI just runs.
Forecasting without the $399 plan
Databox gates forecasting to Growth ($399 a month billed annually) and Custom; it's absent from Free, Analyst and Pro. SimpleKPI includes forecasting at the standard price.
No per-source charges
Databox includes three data sources on Pro and Growth and bills $5.60 a month for each one after that, so the invoice tracks the size of your stack. SimpleKPI doesn't meter data sources; connect what you like through the native integrations, Zapier, spreadsheet import or the API.
Benchmarking still exists here
Databox deprecated its Benchmarks and Benchmark Groups on April 6, 2026, and peer comparison is gone from the product. SimpleKPI offers indicative benchmarking: AI-estimated reference points, not real peer data, but a useful sense of where you stand.
Frequently asked questions
Is Databox cheaper than SimpleKPI?
Only for a single user. Databox's Analyst plan is $64 a month billed annually against SimpleKPI's $67, but the moment a second person needs a login, Databox jumps to Pro at $159 a month billed annually, while SimpleKPI stays at one flat price for unlimited users. Extra Databox data sources beyond the three included add $5.60 a month each.
Does SimpleKPI send alerts to Slack or email like Databox?
No. SimpleKPI's threshold alerts (Pulse) are in-app only, with no push to Slack, Teams or email. Databox delivers threshold and Smart Alerts by email, Slack and mobile, but only from the Pro plan at $159 a month billed annually; alerts aren't included on Free or Analyst.
How does AI pricing compare between the two?
SimpleKPI includes all AI features in its flat price with no credits or metering. Databox allocates monthly AI credits per tier (50 on Free, 500 on Analyst, 1,500 on Pro, 4,000 on Growth) that are shared across the account, reset each billing cycle and don't roll over. Using more than the allowance means a paid top-up add-on.
Does Databox still offer benchmarking?
No. Databox deprecated its Benchmarks and Benchmark Groups feature on April 6, 2026, and it no longer appears on its pricing page. SimpleKPI provides indicative benchmarking, which is AI-estimated rather than drawn from real peer data.
